Who are we looking for?

We are looking for curious, empathetic, and creative individuals in the fields of design, photography, videography, or post-production who truly believe that stories shape our world, and who desire to showcase and contribute their talents to the KERTIS team.

Who does an intern do at KERTIS?

Our internships are fully immersive positions, and our interns receive responsibilities and opportunities on client projects with collaborative support from our KERTIS team. You will participate in the development and production of creative assets for strategy, design, photo, and video production, and more.

What roles are available?

Production Intern (Graphic Design/Video/Photo)
KERTIS is at heart a documentary-style, narrative-based creative agency, and we make work that amplifies non-profits, corporations, and institutions that have a service or product with a story to tell. This internship offers hands‑on experience with real client work.

Role

  • Collaborate and support the Accounts, Strategy, & Creative services teams in developing and executing visual solutions from conception through delivery

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a cohesive and successful partnership with colleagues across departments

  • Show an active desire & ability to learn through asking questions, participation, and being willing to try new things (and fail! It’s totally okay to fail). 

  • Participate in new business efforts as requested

General Skills & Requirements

  • At least one completed year in a related field of study.

  • Proven excellence for creative standards

  • Strong documentary & narrative instincts or training

  • The desire to know the ‘why’ behind an organization, corporation, process, or product

  • Solid knowledge of creative typography, layout, color theory, and design/editing tools

  • Strong or developing production, videography, photography, and/or editing skills

  • An ability to shepherd a story from conception to activation

  • Great verbal, visual, and written communication skills - Collaboration is key!

  • Creative problem solving & critical thinking

  • Ability to maintain accurate schedules and deadlines

  • Self-motivated & open-minded

  • Adobe Creative Suite experience required

  • Knowledge Of UX/UI a plus

Compensation / Additional Benefits

  • KERTIS internships are full-time (40hr/wk) paid positions. We offer our interns a paid rate of $2600 per month. Start and end dates are flexible.

This is a Louisville, KY based position, but we have a hybrid working environment. Although we want our interns to spend as much time in our office as possible, interacting with our teams and your director, there may be days that you work from home or a coffee shop, etc. You and your director will establish a schedule.
