Appalachia Rising is collaboration of community-led organizations and leaders who love their Appalachian home. They aim to enhance the resilience of Appalachian families, organizations, and the community of nature that sustains them in a beautiful place. They support a broad network of effective local organizations and leaders.

Appalachia Rising focuses on the Central and Southern Appalachian Mountains, the rivers and streams that flow out of those mountains, and local communities sustained by the region’s lands and waters. This is one of the most important regions in the world for sustaining nature, ensuring a stable climate, and nurturing healthy communities.

A new brand, website, and messaging strategy was needed upon the founding of the organization. KERTIS developed the full brand and built the communication and brand narrative strategy. We continue to sit on their planning team as ongoing communications advisors.
